Novonor cares about people and maintains the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation. It is one of the oldest business foundations in Brazil.
The institution was created by Norberto Odebrecht in 1965 and, since then, has been contributing with society to make it more harmonious, and supportive, with equal opportunities for all.
The Foundation is a private and non-profit organization - and its mission is to "Educating for Life, Work, Values, and to overcome Limits".
With its Social Program, PDCIS operates in regions of vulnerability and environmental degradation, using local potential to leverage economic growth with environmental conservation and social inclusion, having the youth as the main agents of transformation.
Such transformation has many agents: society, public authorities, private initiative, and civil society organisations.
Currently, the Program is carried out in Southern BahiaLowlands, a space contrasting its rich biodiversity with low Human Development Indexes (HDI).
Every year, the Foundation engages thousands of people with the ‘Tribute to the Future’ campaign, which mobilizes resources for PDCIS. To take part in it is a safe process that has been going on for 15 years, and everyone can contribute.
The donations go directly to the Childhood and Adolescence Fund of the cities served through the City Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents.
In 2018, the PDCIS impact assessment was unprecedented. Conducted by a specializing consulting company, JS/Brasil, the work proved, with statistical certainty, that the Foundation's Social Programme generates transformation in the economic, social and environmental spheres for the beneficiaries.
